A brewery in industrial style

At Lednice Brewery our joinery met craft beer, and what came out is a place where you catch the smell of malt and honest work in equal measure. We were on the project as the contractor from the very beginning. What made it specific was the range of natural materials: this is a brewery restaurant, and Corten steel, leather, marmoleum and solid wood are what give it its character.

At the entrance you meet a backlit bar clad in steel plate with milled elements that pick up the brewery’s visual identity. The interior design is thought through to the last detail. You know at once that you are in a brewery — the smell of malt runs through the whole space. Industrial design was the obvious choice here, because the brewing itself is partly open to the restaurant, and you can easily run into the brewmaster checking a batch by the coppers.

The strength of natural materials

For all the tables and the other furniture we combined two natural materials: solid oak and marmoleum. They work well together and, just as importantly, they feel good under the hand — which mattered to us on the tables.

The brewery let us show our range. Working with wood is our daily bread, but here we brought in metalwork, and our upholsterers for the upholstered benches. Another good detail is the backlit brewery name on the wall, where the care went into the installation as much as the making.

We let it rust

To push the industrial look further and reach the tone we wanted, we let the steel plates rust. With various agents and methods we created the right conditions for corrosion. It took time, but the result genuinely surprised us. We used the same material to clad the surround of the solid doors we made to measure. They lead into the VIP room, where you can enjoy a beer in private with friends. Lednice Brewery is worth the visit.
