Creating a modern, hard-wearing interior is a challenge in which the choice of material plays a decisive part. One of the favourites lately is artificial stone (Corian, Technistone and the like). Working it demands absolute precision, which was the main discipline in one of our recent office projects.

Artificial stone feels pleasantly warm to the touch and looks very clean, which matters in exposed places such as entrance halls and staff areas. It combines good looks with practicality. After years of heavy use – things put down on it, drinks spilled – it keeps its original appearance. And if signs of wear do show up in time, its great advantage is that it is repairable. A professional sanding and the surface is as good as new.
On a recent project we used Corian in the Everest finish for a kitchen and a reception desk.

The most interesting part of working with this material is the moment you need to go beyond standard sheet sizes. On our latest project that meant a large oval island and a worktop with an upstand. Corian comes in limited formats, so the final shape had to be bonded from two sheets.

If we had not told you, you would probably never know. Our joiners sanded the joint so perfectly that the island reads as one continuous surface. You would struggle to find the join. It looks a little like magic; behind it lies solid craftsmanship, the right technical procedure and regular training in the material at Woodever.

The result is a kitchen that is good to look at and thoroughly functional. Its non-porous surface and lack of seams give dirt and bacteria nowhere to sit, which is a huge benefit where a lot of people come and go.
A first-rate material combined with honest craft gives us the freedom to build elements of any size with no visible joints. Designing an interior, you are not limited by standard sheet formats. We can handle even the most demanding designs and our experience lets us work artificial stone into whatever form your project calls for.

Artificial stone, often known by the Corian or Technistone brands, is a phenomenon in interiors. It is a composite of natural minerals and pure acrylic polymer that marries the hardness of stone with a surface that is warm to the touch. Its greatest superpower is the invisible joint: we can build endlessly long surfaces or organic shapes that read as a single monolith.

The non-porous surface makes the material highly hygienic and liquid-resistant, which makes it ideal not only for prestige reception desks but for kitchen worktops and healthcare settings.
