On 7 November 2024, successful business projects from across the Czech Republic were recognised at a ceremony in the historic Sacre Coeur chapel in Prague. With the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Business and Innovation Agency in attendance, the prestigious Business Project of the Year awards went to the best projects carried out under the Enterprise and Innovation for Competitiveness Operational Programme (OP PIK). We are proud to say that Woodever was among the twelve projects recognised, in the Technology programme.

How did we get there? Our company has long specialised in making quality non-standard furniture and timber products. As early as 2020 we began making full use of the opportunities offered by the Enterprise and Innovation for Competitiveness Operational Programme, supported by EU funds.

We entered a project called Implementing Industry 4.0 elements in the company and through it acquired modern furniture production technology step by step: CAD and CAM software, a module for designing furniture runs, surveying equipment with 3D glasses, an online configurator for wooden loungers and software for data analysis and visualisation. These technologies are linked through a sophisticated Manufacturing Execution System (MES) that allows effective two-way communication between every phase of production.

Thanks to these innovations, our digital joinery has made significant progress, particularly in automation, streamlining internal processes and digitalising production. We have also seen demonstrable improvements in product quality and reductions in waste, which is an important step towards sustainability.

We know there is a long road of improvement ahead, but the award confirms we are heading the right way.
