1930s apartment renovation
High ceilings, honest wooden parquet and double doors are the signature of apartments built between the wars. Woodever delivered the complete interior of one of them in a city centre, to a design by architect Jakub Loučka.
A period flat, rethought
A generous flat with high ceilings called for fitted furniture that is practical and still good to look at. Darker wood decor, solid white doors and a petrol blue add up to something modern and fresh. Most of the furniture is laminated chipboard in a dark wood-look decor, which is hard-wearing — it runs through the bathroom furniture, the bookcase, the fitted wardrobes and the kitchen.
The kitchen is the bold, unexpected part. A minimal worktop in an elegant compact material sits perfectly against the metal frame. A free-standing island against a white brick wall anchors the space where kitchen, living room and dining area meet.
