Classroom for children with autism

For a primary school that also teaches children with autism spectrum disorder, we had the privilege of fitting out a new classroom built around their needs. Those needs are very specific, and the equipment we developed together with the school’s staff helps the children with development, learning and concentration.

The children work directly with bespoke furniture, much of it faced with carpet so that teaching cards can be attached anywhere. Some of the fitted cupboards are finished in writable HPL and double as whiteboards. Individual seating places have their own LED lighting.

The classroom is built on colours that simply belong to children. The aim was a cheerful, playful place where they not only learn, but feel at ease.
