Design shop at a regional art gallery

Clean design that lets the artwork speak

We delivered the complete fit-out of the design shop just inside the entrance of a regional art gallery. A minimalist scheme in light tones keeps the focus on what is for sale — one-off pieces and whole collections by different designers.

The range runs from handmade jewellery to objects in all sorts of materials. The shop itself is really a wooden object too, built from a material we keep coming back to: natural birch plywood.

A design shop made entirely of plywood

Plywood furniture reads as minimal, with the layered edges left on show. A reception counter carrying the shop logo, sales tables, display cabinets with glass tops and a lockable case with security glazing hold mostly art jewellery. Plywood also went into the display cases at the permanent Art Design Fashion exhibition.
