Family house interior with home office and children’s room

Modern family house interior with a wine cabinet and home office

For a young family, we designed a carefully planned family house interior, including a built-in wine cabinet, a home office and a bespoke children’s room. A dark oak decor runs through the whole interior, paired with different colours depending on the room. In the hallway we made a generous fitted wardrobe to measure, followed by a console table with a mirror. Plenty of storage was one of the clients’ main requirements. Under the staircase there is a built-in wine cabinet, which — thanks to its internal shelving system and lighting — became a striking, design-led centrepiece of the whole space.

The house also has a home office, which doubles as a guest room. A hidden fold-down bed gives guests plenty of comfort. The elegant home office has everything you need for working from home. Working here is made easier not just by the amount of daylight, but also by the lovely view of the garden.

Workspace corners in the children’s room

For a bespoke children’s room for two, we made a lot of non-standard furniture, built to the millimetre. One piece was a built-in loft running the full length of the room with a shared staircase, which adds further storage. The staircase also divides the room, giving the girl and the boy their own private space.

Each side has a generous bed with storage and its own desk with wall-mounted shelving. We fitted the children with our height-adjustable desks, the best possible choice for them ergonomically.

The climbing wall is both a playful feature in the children’s room and a lovely splash of colour. In future it can easily be converted into a wall of shelves, which will certainly be needed in later years. The room is therefore designed with the years ahead in mind, planned so that it “grows” together with the children.
