Pilates studio interior

The interior of this pilates studio was designed as a calm, harmonious environment that supports concentration and movement alike. The architectural concept works with a soft material palette and a motif of arches that runs through many of the interior elements.

Woodever’s part was the bespoke furniture and interior elements: fitted storage systems, timber cladding, the fit-out of the changing rooms and bathrooms, and the structure of the reception counter, which is then clad in solid surface. The design called for precise work on non-standard elements, so that the individual parts of the space read as one compact, visually clean whole.

Arches as a structural challenge

Curved lines are the strongest motif here, appearing in the larger furniture elements and in their details. Translating them into joinery was one of the most interesting parts of the job. Curved shelves and smaller structural elements inside the fitted units needed exact manufacture and careful installation, so that the finished detail looks light and natural.

The result is an interior that never shows off, but rests on proportion, material and craft precision. The furniture is not the dominant thing in the space; it is a natural part of it, supporting the atmosphere of the studio and its daily running.
